It’s the first night of The Voice’s battle rounds, the part which pits a team’s pool of artists against each other. Once again, the mentors are bringing in the big guns in terms of their training skills and renowned friends in the music industry. For the battles, Adam Levine commissions Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott (who I hear is no stranger to singing shows after auditioning twice for American Idol); Blake Shelton banks on Sheryl Crow’s wisdom, Shakira has Good Charlotte’s frontman Joel Madden (also a judge in the show’s Australian version) while Usher checks in rapper/ producer Pharell Williams.
